Literally millions of players strive to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more noteworthy "charming players" of poker. Despite the fact that "nice" is associated with their names when you are playing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have removed you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his competition winnings amounted to more than four and a half million dollars and he won two highly admired awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Competition Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was appointed Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. He even still has the decency to speak with his admirers about how they will be able to boost their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an instructional video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co holding a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of Two Thousand and Five, his complete life time winnings surpass $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is one of the most active players in poker and from 2000 and Two Thousand and Four he finished in the money in more than 100 competitions. He’s notorious for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker games and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when referring to a particularly bad defeat. As of 2006, his life time earnings are just about $6 million.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has captured five World Series of Poker titles with two of his successes happening in 2003. Has the nickname "Jesus" as a result of his characteristic long hair and beard, that, and along with his ability to throw cards quick enough to cut through pickles and bananas. As of Two Thousand and Five his total live poker tournament earnings exceeded $5 million.
