Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Founded on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the wild west in an excellent game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler versus the dealer, not like most other poker games that players wager against other players. By gambling against the dealer, beginner players do not have to fret about any other, more knowledgeable players taking their cash.

A further Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, beginners are able to take their time and scheme without needing to make hasty decisions.

It’s also easier to play for an extended time with only a little amount of money after all, to lose, each of your hands needs to be lower than each of the houses hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is given 7 cards faces showing and the casino is given seven cards faces hidden.

A five card hand and a two card hand must be made from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
