Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Founded on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the wild west in a great game for early level gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player against the casino, unlike almost all other poker games that players wager with other players. By playing against the dealer, new players don’t have to worry about any other, more advanced gamblers taking their cash.
One more Pai Gow benefit is the generally slow game pace, rookies can take their time and plan without needing to make hasty selections.
It is also easier to participate in for a very long time with only a small bit of cash after all, to not win, each of your hands must be under both of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is dealt 7 cards face up and the dealer receives seven cards face down.
A five card hand and a two card hand must be made from the 7 cards, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be larger than the dealer’s.
