Online poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no conniving or different kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier saying "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course all of the other gamblers are given five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must in turn make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning wager, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Abandoning means that your bet goes immediately to the house. After the bet comes the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus a figure on par with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The bank pony’s up money equal to your wager and fixed odds on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
