Online poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the dealer announcing "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the other gamblers are given five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you have to either make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is akin to your beginning wager, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes immediately to the dealer. After the wager is the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with an amount on par with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The bank pays money equal to your ante and controlled expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
