Double-hand Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Founded on the ancient Chinese tile game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the western in an excellent game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the croupier, unlike most other poker games that gamblers wager with other gamblers. By wagering against the dealer, beginning players don’t have to be concerned about other, more experienced players taking their mulla.
Another Pai Gow advantage is the relatively slow game play, beginners will be able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make hasty choices.
It is also easier to enjoy for a very long time with only a small amount of cash after all, to lose, both of your hands must be lower than each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is given 7 cards face up and the house receives 7 cards face down.
A 5 card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be better than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be better than the casino’s.
