Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve final table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best enthusiasts around the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in cash games?
