Now let us become versed in some different kinds of poker other than hold’em, seven card stud, five card draw and omaha hold’em. Yes, pai gow poker. Now you must be thinking that pai gow sounds a bit Chinese; well you are correct, this game is a blending of the Chinese game pai gow and poker
Clearly this is not one of the highly popular forms of poker but still broadly played. It can be enjoyed by up to 7 players. It’s played with 1 deck of 52 cards, including a joker. Interestingly, the Joker can be used only as an ace, or to finish off a straight, flush, a straight flush, or royal flush. The important detail here to bear in mind is other than the customary ranking of hands we’ve one more winning hand which is "Five Aces" (5 aces including the joker). Surprisingly, five aces beats all other hand including royal flush. Each player is given 7 cards. These cards are arranged to create 2 hands; a two card hand and a five card hand. The five card hand must be better or be equivalent to the two card hand.
After setting up the two hands, the cards are placed on the table with the faces down. Once down, you can’t change them. The croupier will turn over their cards and make his hands. Every competitors hand is compared to the dealer’s hands. Should the player take one hand and loses the other, this is referred to as "push" and absolutely no money is exchanged. If croupier wins the two hands then the bettor gives up their wager and vice versa. Now if there is a draw, the dealer wins everything. After the hand is played, the very next player clock-wise becomes the dealer and the next hand is dealt.
